I too greatly look forward to the next pointless war

I would predict: No
Keep in mind that this asshole killed a lot of people over a long period of
time. But, now it's a BFD that someone took him out?
And don't forget, for those that are hoping that taking no action at all is the
right way to go, we are dealing with a theocratic tyrannical government. They
will eventually come for you if you let them. And that's pretty much the ONLY
way they roll. The only exceptions are the Egyptian military that for God knows
what reason seem to be very pragmatic, and Jordan (how does Abdullah keep that
shit together?). The other ones that keep out of trouble just want to make fuck
loads of $$$.
Oh, and negotiations will only work when we are the ones holding the gun.

Doesn't mean it wouldn't be a pointless war. From both sides.
As for the rest of it; yep the world sure is a more stable, great place today
than it was 20 years ago.

Sorry, but you are wrong. Iran does have a point: domination of other cultures
in obedience to their God.
And those cultures that oppose that point are simply not going for it.
Your 2nd point is simply a matter of scope that exists only because of
technological progress. The world is smaller and the reach is farther. It is
easier to destroy than it is to build. And the bad guys WILL do bad things. The
use of force to oppose such things is an unfortunate fact of existence.

Your first point about the Iranians, Loner, also applies to Trump's largest and
most vocal group of supporters, the evangelicals. Their goal is to turn the U.S.
into a "Christian" theocracy. They don't get the concept of separation
of church and state.

Well quite frankly I think the vast majority of people in the US don't
understand separation of church and state.

Well Jesus Christ! We agree on something 3 different posts in a row!
But I think that Christian theocrats are small minority. A lot of people (I
would say most) that hold Christian beliefs are not and would not be in that
category.
