At this point it probably will deviate from the center line which right now
shows it going right though here, but I'm already gettin' ready and will more
than likely be battening down the hatches at home on Sunday so we can batten
down the hatches at work on Monday & get the hell outta Dodge. Gonna be a
busy week at least. At worst, well, we're still puttin' things back together
from hurricane Charley which whacked the hell out of us on Friday the 13th of
August, 2004.
Hey, Orlando & Lexx, you better get your own preparations started, boys.
Wish us luck, gang.

neh..just a tropical storm. and with that much land its going over it will be
lucking to not be downgraded to a depression by the time it hits Florida

That's what we're hoping for, Mint, and as of this morning the center of the
track has shifted a bit to the west, but as we learned here in a very devasting
way, anywhere in the shaded areas is fair game, and once this bitch gets past
Cuba and gets over the warm water of the Florida Straits and the Gulf of Mexico
it'll strengthen very rapidly. This morning's center line is very similar to
Charley's and the weather station atop the hospital that's about 6 or 7 miles
from my home recorded winds of 173 mph before it blew away.
Optimism is good, and I'm very optimistic we won't get the worst of this, but
now's the time to get ready just in case because things could go badly very
quickly come Tuesday as they did with Charley which was on a track to go to
Tampa but turned very quickly to hit Charlotte Harbor only a couple of hours
before the eye went right through here. Prepare now to avoid problems and panic
when it's too late.
My big regret if Fay doesn't strike us is that somebody else is gonna get the
shit kicked out of them and nobody should have to go through that.
Having said that, after having personally experienced the devastation of a
hurricane,a lot of the people of New Orleans, who were hit by Katrina just over
a year after we were hit by Charley, are a bunch of whiny little babies.
