Get them de-clawed.

De-clawin cats is shitty at best and if you do so, you should expect 'em to be
indoor cats from that point on since you've made them defenseless in havin done
so. Here at the casa there's coyotes, roamin dogs, hawks, eagles and some damned
good sized owls for the boys to contend with and without claws they ain't gotta
prayer.
'Sides, indoor cats require litter boxes, and I ain't havin any of that thank
you. My 2 come in when I get up in the mornin, eat, hang out and sleep, like
all other cats. But, when I head to bed they KNOW they're headed outside, rain,
snow, cold as shit ... whatever.
De-clawin cats is just like puttin stuff outta reach when lil kids are around.
The thing that REALLY needs to happen is the kids, just like cats, need to be
trained

Well, anyone who's de-claws a cat then stick him outdoors is an utter
idiot.
We rescued a stray cat last year who was roaming our property along with other
stray critters. He was already de-clawed, so we made him a house pet. He's been
great ever since. If I had a choice I would rather the cat be trained. I don't
know the procedure, but I can imagine they go through a lot of pain for the
first few weeks after the operation.
