Lincoln didn't give a shit about slavery.. "He..declared that he had no
intention of ending slavery where it existed, or of repealing the Fugitive Slave

I think what this is saying is if the Southern States knew what a problem
blacks would end up being, they would have payed whites to work the plantations
rather than import black slaves from Africa.
