Forgive them, for they know not what they do.

I know not what they do either. Would anyone care to explain?

The Village People were a musical group in the United States during the early
eighties who dressed up in costumes of a policeman, a sailor, a construction
worker, an Indian chief, a leather-clad biker, and another that escapes my
memory. Their two most popular disco hits were
Macho Man and
Y.M.C.A. They were very popular among the homosexual community and are
believed by many to have had a large contribution to to the death of disco.

During stage performances of "Y.M.C.A." as they would sing the
letters y m c a , they would form the letters with their bodies in a manner
similar to that of the fellows in the photo (with the help of the crucified
Jesus Christ). Christ was not one of the costumes worn by any of the Village
People though many thought they should have been crucified.

I had heard that jesus died for every sine we WOULD commit, who knew someone
would be there with a camera to capture the moment.

Jesus died for every sine? I didn't know he was so adamantly opposed to
mathematics.

Probably not the effect the artist had in mind.
