Hi There,
this was in carneval this februaryprobably in Cologne or Mainz. The woman
"inside" is a well known poliician (Angela Merkel), who would do
anything to get in touch the USA and/or Bush (as you can see ... this picture
isn't really far away from the reality).
I Think it's kind of funny if you know what is going on in Germany's politics
:-)
Greetings from Stuttgart,
Kay'l

So Europeans see Americans as having small, flag waving, German women in their
asses?

No offense meant, here is my translation of the text:
This was taken during a carnival (street demonstration/protest?) in February,
probably in Cologne or Mainz. The woman "inside" is a well known
politician (Angela Merkel), who is an ass-kissing Bush-lover (So you can see,
this picture isn't really far away from reality here).
It's funnier if you know what is going on in German politics right now. :-)
Greetings from Stuttgart.

My only question is, did they have to write "USA" on the hat? Wasn't
it obvious enough already?

Thanks for the translation :-)
Carnival in Germany ( we call it Fasching / Fasnet / Fasnacht ) is an old
tradition (about 500 years old). It's celebrated in early February. It was meant
to bring some color to the grey winter days and to help nature "chase"
the coldness away so spring can begin. This is a relict of the time, when food
was rare in cold winters.
Many people dress like whitches or cobolds, sometimes it reminds me of the
American Halloween.
Today it is more like a huge party, everybody just wants to have fun. There are
always big parades in the cities, as on the picture above. This wasn't a real
traditional parade, as you can see ...
Often caricatures are used in the parades just as this one.
Germanies politicians have quite different meanings about Bush. Most of them
don't really love him, some of them really worship him. Angela Merkel (the woman
with the flags) is one of the Bush-Lovers. Sometimes she almost appears fanatic
about him, that's what this caricature wants to show.
A German phrase says somebody is climbing up the ass of someone else if he would
do anything for him. So that's why Miss Merkel is inside the USA-guy.
I don't know why there is "USA" printed on the hat, i did't even
recognize it. Perhaps it's just there for people who don't know
stars&stripes or Uncle Sam (Although I doubt these people exist ... )
I hope you can understand what i wrote! Translations are welcome :-)

P.S.: It's fucking cold and outside are about 50 cm of snow, so this years
Fascbing didn't really work :-)

woops didn't know the slashes make cursive text. So Carnival in German means
Fasching, Fasnet or Fastnacht, it differs from region to region.
It's called Fasching in Cologne or Mainz, in the south west it's called Fasnet,
Fastnacht is used rarely

More like the other way around, "How the Europeans see themselves".
