funny you should say that because when i claimed that they are much bigger
apparently i was wrong, this could be a record on rod and reel, but for
bowfishing i think they go just a few lbs. bigger. but i can't seem to find any
definate #'s. this one doesn't seem to have any wounds to say bowfished, so I'm
guessing it was rod and reel, or trot line. I don't know. there are several
different sites i found from google pics. but none i saw say for sure, and even
a few give a different site that it was caught. fuckin' web, you never know what
to believe.

it looks to me that the world record is 279 lbs for an alligator gar on rod and
reel caught in 1951 on the rio grande river. this was seen on 3 different sites,
so if this was caught w/a rod it could be the new record if verified.
