I didn't realize the Iraqis and Afghanistanis EVER had any trust in US leaders
objectives. Would YOU trust foreigners who invaded your land? Would you EVER
stop fighting or supporting those fighting them? ESPECIALLY if they were members
of some strange religion and wanted to "teach" your children? I live
in North Carolina, USA, and if they came over here and took over, EVERYBODY
would fight however they could. Even if that just meant puncturing tires at
night to slow them down, or taking sniper shots at a few on patrol. We would
never give up no matter what they promised. They are just as determined......we
need to get the fuck OUT! And deal with our own problems at home like China
propping up our economy by buying our treasury bonds WTF!?!?!?!?

Since when does any one in the world other than the Americans give a fuck what
the Americans think?
It works both ways. The American soldiers risking their lives in Afghanistan
care. They signed up to protect America, not police every shithole on the
planet.

In the bar that night, things got interesting. A group of men associated with
the Pen-Link and Lincoln electronic surveillance systems came in. I exchanged
small talk with them for a bit, then moved to their table. Although I had
identified myself as a journalist, an enthusiastic reseller of the equipment
decided to hold forth. We drank a great deal, so I won't name him.
"I'm not much concerned about wiretaps in America and Europe," I'd
been saying to one of the Pen-Link engineers, "but I wonder if it bothers
you to consider what this technology can do in the hands of repressive
governments with no judicial oversight, no independent legislature."
Our man interrupted. "You need to educate yourself," he said with a
sneer. "I mean, that's a classic journalist's question, but why are you
hassling these guys? They're engineers. They make a product. They don't sell it.
What the hell is it to them what anyone does with it?"
"Well, it's quite an issue," I said. "This is the equipment of
totalitarianism, and the only things that can keep a population safe are decent
law and proper oversight. I want to know what they think when they learn that
China, or Syria, or Zimbabwe is getting their hands on it."
"You really need to educate yourself," he insisted. "Do you think
this stuff doesn't happen in the West? Let me tell you something. I sell this
equipment all over the world, especially in the Middle East. I deal with buyers
from Qatar, and I get more concern about proper legal procedure from them than I
get in the USA."
"Well, perhaps the Qataris are conscientious," I said, "and I'm
prepared to take your word on that, but there are seriously oppressive
governments out there itching to get hold of this stuff."
He sneered again. "Do you think for a minute that Bush would let legal
issues stop him from doing surveillance? He's got to prevent a terrorist attack
that everyone knows is coming. He'll do absolutely anything he thinks is going
to work. And so would you. So why are you bothering these guys?"
"It's a valid question," I insisted. "This is powerful stuff. In
the wrong hands, it could ruin political opponents; it could make the state's
power impossible to challenge. The state would know basically everything. People
would be getting rounded up for thought crimes."
"You're not listening," he said. "The NSA is using this stuff.
The DEA, the Secret Service, the CIA. Are you kidding me? They don't answer to
you. They do whatever the hell they want with it. Are you really that naïve?
Now leave these guys alone; they make a product, that's all. It's nothing to
them what happens afterward. You really need to educate yourself."

All of the people who thinks 9-11 was a shitty day in american history should
care what Afghanis think.
What ever bad or illegal actions americans do over there spark ideas like
9-11.
Open your eyes.

Anonymous@53227 Alright newbie. You missed the 500 post where I said I do have
an impact here in DC.
Why do you think there is so much organized opposition to the pussy in chief
?
As I said before you fudgepackers will never know the good I have doen to combat
the Bush administration who fucked over intelligence experts like myself. We
exposed this administration as a fraud, as liars, as fabricators of intelligence
(Dick Cheney) and still there are people willing to be Bush suckups.
However, to throw mud back in your eye. It's easy attack the messenger which is
the main attack on my posts her on this site. "Please don't tell me that my
dumbass president fabriacted evidence for the occuptation of a sovereign nation.
The US can do no wrong"
Horseshit.

Ah, finally, I now know what your day job is... Intelligence Expert. I am
sure I speak for many here on Plus613 when I say that we are honored that you
routinely share your intelligence insights with us.

I suppose you people would rather fight the terrorists over here than overseas.
If we were not in Afghanistan and Iraq attracting terrorists there then they
would be over here causing havoc because people like you would be too
politically correct to actively do anything about them. Many of the ones caught
or killed over there would be on our soil attacking everyone not just the
military. Sooner or later the Islamic militants will convert the rest of Islam
and the war will be on around the world. We have done all we can now to delay
it but it cannot be prevented. You people are adding fuel to their fire and by
your worlds and actions are bringing the religious war to the present faster
than it would have come before. When the rest of the Islamic people decide to
take up arms against all the rest you will then find out just how bad it can be
and it will be your fault for helping them. You will see it in your lifetime
and hopefully you will be the first killed.

I'm anti-Bush admin. get it right. Defending the US from scumbags like the Bush
admin could not be more American.
jgoins
the US mlitary is not fighting terrorists anywhere. The current occupations of
Iraq and Afghanistan are serving to CREATE more terrorists.
They don't need islam or Usama Bin Laden to get them whipped into a frenzy. The
Bush admin has violated their basic ideals and they feel threatened.
Taliban. Not terrorists.
Sunni and Shia militias fighting in Iraq (the insurgency). Not terrorists.
The Bush admin tried to take advantage of the fighting between Sunni and Shia
and call them terrorists but that got exposed as a lie early on in the
occupation.
Terrorist events have gone up worldwide since the occupation of Iraq so the BS
theory that terrorists are flooding to Iraq to fight us is BS.
Now that the US has concentrated its focus to Iraq and Afghanistan terrorists in
other regions of the world are FREE to roam and commit terrorist acts. And they
have. Proving once again the incompetence of the Bush admin.

He claims his project is to rile the knee-jerk right-wingers into responding,
in order to study their propaganda-load (the BS they've swallowed recently).
And you know, it works. But then he goes and keeps replying to people, and
making personal attacks too (although he's gotten a bit better of late).
Unfortunately, he's got crap-ass agit-prop skillz.
Dude, take a design class or something. Pick up a book on Photoshop,
..anything! Jesus Criminey motherfuck : Picture + Text ... so flat! so boring!
Breaks the Plus613 upload rule of "make it interesting" if you ask me.
