This Harold Edgerton photo of an H-bomb test explosion looks almost like a
Virgil Finlay illustration.
Automatic Camera situated 7 miles from blast with 10 foot lens. Shutter speed
equaled 1/100,000,000 of-a-second exposure. Joshua tree’s near base get
vaporized in just microseconds.

umm would the be the right time to point out that A-bomb means a bomb powered
by U-238 not hydrogen?

Point taken: This is an H-bomb explosion. Not Atom bomb.
Found them on some random site.. the site of the guy who did the
"Nitro-powered Mower" photoshop on himself.
So strange, the explosion, such a curious warping of matter.

Yeah what makes me wonder is why that pattern? are explosions supposed to come
from apoint source and expand uniformly? Would air currents have that much of an
impact on the shape?
