Those bumpers called "bull bars" or "'roo bars" are the norm in Australia. Another thing that's very common there but not seen in North America are stone guards for the windshield, a screen across the lower quarter or so of the windshield. I could've used a stone guard a couple of times.

Most of the work is done on highways just like anywhere else in the world but a high percentage of trucks will work on dirt roads for mining and livestock transportation. They all dress to kill even if they are working the city.

Came across one of these big mothers off Oodnadatta on the rig road to the Simpson.
Back in the late 80s. I just quickly drove the 4WD off the road and let him go through:
These things spit out stones and debris large and fast enough to punch a hole through metal.
Let alone windscreens!
