When deep space exploration ramps up, it'll be the corporations that name
everything, the IBM Stellar Sphere, the Microsoft Galaxy, Planet Starbucks.

The human race will never even leave our own solar system. It's just too big.

Wobie, I'm afraid you are right but the reason is most likely because nobody
cares about space exploration anymore. In order to leave our solar system we
will need FTL (Faster Than Light) drives. The human race no longer seems to
believe in the possibility of life anywhere else so they have no desire to find
it.

America certainly have lost interest but I don't think the rest of the world
ever had the budget to think that big so nothing has changed there.
Remember;
There are two types of countries in the world.
Those that use the metric system...
...and those who have been to the moon.

Well seeing as how it will take months just to travel to Mars it's not likely
anyone will ever try to leave the solar system. Our only hope of meeting other
civilizations in the universe will be to wait for them to visit us and with
governments keeping all that hush hush we are not likely to know it unless they
land in broad daylight in a public spot.

Seems we're the result of interstellar travel I think we're doing alright in
the 'travel' out of the solar system deal. Think about this, If it indeed does
take light years to travel to other worlds. Don't you think it's likely that
we'd send our DNA instead? We could populate a planet with our 'children'.
Launch rockets to every planet in every direction with a 'cum bomb' that when it
explodes seeds alien DNA all over the planet like a bukkake film. Some will
succeed, others wont. The ones that do means our species will eventually cover
the universe. Perfect virus.

I want no part of your cum bomb

Light years is a measurement of distance not time. One light year is the
distance it takes light to travel in one year.
