90130, I'll answer your question with another question: do you know why this gun was developed in the first place? I.e. what battlefield need was it designed to fill?

Guns are designed to fire pieces of lead at very high speed. The result of the lead projected at high speed hitting an object is damage. The oject being damaged can be whatever your heart desires. Would the world be better off without guns, yes. There you go gruffstar.

PS. not a personal attack, so dont go off loosing your nut, just my personal opinion.

Gruff, I have a link that can answer that question faster and in greater detail I can muster right now. I DO know the answer, but this is easier; [www.m1911.org]

Aussie_Frank, you don't have to like guns. I just don't think banning them would solve any problems at all, however.

By the way, I own a Colt Gold Cup national match series 80. It's a factory custom shop gun that's been hotrodded and accurized, with a high polish stainless finish. One of my favorites, and I've owned many custom builder's 1911s. What do you shoot, Gruff?

The last time I saw Gruff shoot (something other than his mouth off) it was either an M-1 or a Russian SKS...I forget.

As far as handguns, I like the Ruger Redhawk (KRH-44)

Nice guns...only Rugers I own are the 10/22 Target, KM-77VBZ bolt action in .308 Winchester, and a couple of Mini-14s in .223. Love 'em all.
