Ah well hopefully Piastri will have some success. He deserves to be in F1, just needs to be in a team that's not shit.

As a long time McLaren fan it saddens me that you are so right.

Same. Have been a McLaren fan forever. A few years ago, one of our suppliers at work, and McLaren F1 sponsors, gave me paddock club tickets for a few years. That was great, spent time near the pit crew, listening to team radio then watching from above the pit box. And they were sponsored by Chandon so I also barely walked out of the place at the end.. Good times.

Sadly, it was also the peak of their shitness. First years with Honda engines. Garbage.

Given Ricciardo is returning to the grid this weekend... maybe it was all true.

Well he's "on loan" so we'll just have to see.
Hard to find anyone to barrack for these days,
so Dan would be welcome back but he's just too tall for the cars now.

On loan from Red Bull to Red Bull smiling
smiley

Piastri had a good showing last race, and well and truly earned his spot in F1 taking clean sweeps in all junior categories.. so I guess we'll see. If McLaren continue to improve as they have in the past 2 races, eventually he might be fighting for podiums.

Given the main driver advisor to Red Bull still likes Ricciardo, it's also not off the cards he could end up back at the main RB team this year; or next.

We'll see what else happens this year though, lots of driver movements and LOTS of contracts up this year.
