Well, you'd know it'd get five stars from me.

(My handle on this site is respectfully lifted from the narrative character in his 1980 MASTERPIECE, JOE'S GARAGE. It presaged a lot of the cultural stupidity under which we Americans currently find ourselves under struggling- including the present day war of cultures between the West and Mideast.)

He was the biggest PATRIOT of my lifetime. Mercilessly skewering stupid, greedy hypocrisy wherever he found it in whatever arena it rose it's transparently ignorant, personal freedom hating head. (Left and Right, but more often Right, I think because they've made more unthinking errors of "self-righteous indignation" than the other guys have, but I'm sure the other guys don't think so and the left is sure not blameless, their sins are more along the lines of failing to stand up to it, though.)

I also liked the fact that in his bands, mindless guitar worship (of which some was deserved, a lot of talent passed through those bands) didn't obliterate the importance of every other instrument on stage. Right down to the Bass Sax or Bassoon. (Or Penny Whistle for that matter.)Every voice mattered. His classical compositions were REAL compositions and not some anonymously transcribed BS like "The Pixley Philharmonic plays the music of "Yes", etc. (Whom I also like, don't get me wrong.)

We shall not see the likes of him again. And we unquestionably are poorer for it.

Thanks to whomever uploaded it. Five times Five Stars.
