Salman Rushdie wouldn't have sold nearly as many copies of his book the Satanic Verses if it hadn't been for elements of the Muslim hierarchy trying to suppress it. People went out of their way to read it just because of their outcry. They haven't learned a thing because it is happening again with these cartoons. After Denmark published them the French joined them because they both knew it would boost publication massively.
