As usual madnez, it's a bit more complicated than you might comprehend.

Bail 'em out at a cost we as a country can't afford & will have our grandkids still payin for or .... Not bail 'em out and pretty much business as we now know it disappears.

Even now money is so tight it's seriously straining business getting done and companies looking to make capital investments in machinery to upgrade or improve their business positions are dead in the water because no one's loanin shit till this gets sorted out.

Small scale businesses who typically aren't looking for customers wanting to invest more than a few thousand bucks, no biggee. For my business, where customers are looking at investments more substantial than that, and need the ability to borrow $$ for their purchases and amortize the costs over a span of a few years, it's all come to a stand still.

Just be happy you're in a position to hold the one you have on this issue

Not sayin I'm all for the bail-out either, as there's certainly a helluva cost to us all and I don't see it as one the American public has any responsibility to shoulder. Then again, without some kind of fix for the multifaceted problem at hand, the impact could be far more grave to us all than most would think.

The analysts perdict the fallout of not working to resolve this problem could lead to instantly dropping us into a serious recession and a an increased level of loan foreclosures, which could extend well past loans on just housing.

Many loans offer the lender the right to call the loan due at any point and as the banking industry tries to pull themselves up from their respective bootstraps, callin in large packages of loans could be a way of doing so.

With all that in mind, the old saying "careful what you wish for as you may surely get it" is something to ponder mightily before weighing in on this issue
