I have a buddy in Arlington (suburb between Dallas and Ft. Worth) whose had no juice for 2+ days now. He said by the frydee there was no firewood to be had at any of the stores.

Texas has its own power grid and often fares pretty well in such situations so I dunno what happened. Here on the east side of Dallas I had 2 off and right back on events but no real down time. I was in my office when they both hit and if I hadn't heard the APCs kick in I wouldn't have even known about 'em .... except that all the friggin clocks were flashin all through the house afterwards
