On a recent job application I listed honesty as both one of my strengths and one of my weaknesses. I've only been fired once, from a job I'd had for over ten years, because I was too honest for the company owner's fake born again Christian taste. My customers loved me for it, had a lot of repeat business and requests for my assistance because of it, and it took one bozo who walked in ranting and wouldn't stop to cost me my job, even though we agreed to cool off and try again later. It really went back to a time when I wouldn't endorse or recommend a substandard product a couple of years before, a product I was told was a "cash cow" which was true for awhile, at the expense of our customers and, through warranty claims, eventually our company and the manufacturer. I made waves and they weren't forgotten when an opportunity to cut payroll at MY expense presented itself at the height of the recession.
