Almost as imaginative as those that named New Zealand. We have North Island and South Island (I'll let you guess which is in the north and south). We have a region called Northland, and another, Southland. I'm sure you'll not be surprised that Northland is in the north of the country and Southland is in the south. We have another region called East Coast, which is, unsurprisingly, in the East and is on the coast. I'm sure you can guess that the region called West coast is also on the coast and is in the west.
