Not a lot of private flagpoles in NZ, but there is a house near where I live that has one. They'll put up like a Christmas tree flag at Christmas time. For the America's Cup yacht race they had both the NZ and Italian flags flying. They'll put up an American flag on July 4 and a French flag 10 days later, etc. I kind of like it, but I'm with Pulse, I don't get the idea behind always flying your country's flag, or putting up banners like the one in the pic.
