I personally don't find it very compelling at all. You are obviously a hard core pacifist, and to you military action is never justified. Well, in a utopia, getting tough would never be required. In reality however,it is a tough world out there and there are a lot of bad people willing to do harm against others in order to gain power and impose their ideas on others. (don't get cute again and twist this sentence around to mean the USA please) The USA has never been afraid to confront injustices in the world and PROTECT ITS NATIONAL SECURITY. You mentioned Somalia in your last thread. Are you not aware that the Somalia conflict was a United Nations resolution humanitarian effort to protect food aid from greedy murdering warlords??? It's a simple list really; just a list of US military actions without justification or reason. These are the instances where our government used force jusified or not. Simple. Now, you can tell a lot about a country by how it treats its people- old, young and indigenous (for the challenged, that means natives or indians, ok?). If our mentality is that we'll fight them all, that's fine as long as the consequences are okay with you. You may justify them as you want to. I only stated that the list offered no justifications or reasons; that is left up to the reader. I've written my views once on the second world war, that the AmeriKKKans entered the war late on the winning side and declared themselves the saviors of the world. It something AmeriKKKans always bring up when they need friends. "Remember what we did for you?" I actually think waiting to enter WW2 was an act of cowardice on the part of the AmeriKKKan government. Where were we when our allies were getting their asses kicked by the Nazis? If ever there was a justifiable reason to enter a war early (in my opinion) it would have been WW2. Unjustifiable to wait. So to recap, since you are so intellectually limited, I was saying this list does not place any value on the military actions taken by the US, it only lists the actions and allows the reader to make value judgements on his/her own. Another history lesson for you because you sound like an ignorant loudmouth: Yes,
the United States did not enter WW 2 when England and France declared war on Germany. The reason was because after the horrible and unprecedented casualties of World War 1, American society did not want to get involved in the European slaughter again. Americans at the time felt strongly that if the Europeans want to constantly fight and kill each other then let them without getting Americans killed. This was know as the American Isolationist era, and one of Franklin D. Roosevelt most prominent campaign promises was not to involve the USA in European fights. He constantly repeated this promise in his speeches. Already it was obvious another fight was brewing in Europe. However, as the war progressed, it became apparent to the political and intellectual elite in the USA that outside conflicts can have an effect on USA's national security. External conflicts cannot be ignored and the USA must take an active role in confronting threats before they reach America's shores. However, FDR made a promise to the American people to remain neutral. FDR became involved anyway however by protesting the actions of Japan and Germany and proceeded to seize Japanese bank deposits, and halt any shipments of critical supplies. Japan from then on considered the US a participant in the war and the attack on Pearl Harbor was planned.
