can anyone help me with my terrible photography skills?
my camera is cheap, but there seems to be a better way to take shots outside.
do you change the setting to 1600,1280,2048f,2048n. w.t.f. does that mean anyway? does it have anything to do with the lighting?
this stuff is real new to me and it's hell not being able to take a good shot outside.

any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

F-D, in the old days of film cameras, those numbers represented the film speed, or ASA rating.
Higher numbers are good for low light or night shooting, but for proper exposure, set your digicam's ASA or exposure control on the settings menu at "AUTO" and let the camera decide what's best for a particular scene. Otherwise, I'd experiment with 50, 100, 200 for general shooting with plenty of daylight. What model digital camera do you own?

This pic is way overexposed...try a faster shutter speed or smaller aperature.

it's a vivitar 3750.
those are the only options, other than landscape or portrait on the lens. i shall experiment more with 1280 outside.
i threw away the directions thinking...."how hard can it be?"

Heh heh! Pull the lens cap off and shove a Canon S2-IS under it. Awesome point 'n shoot zoom camera. That's what I take along when I'm not shooting film.
