You could always have the shell of a fast car but
put a smaller engine in it to stop this shit happening.

That said it's a petrol one. And I got it because my brother works for GM and I paid bugger all for it. But still... smiling

On to your actual question, I'd buy a McLaren running a Cruze engine. That thing would own.

The new Mustang, which Australia will get, comes with an optional 2.0 Litre eco-boost engine...

You can do a lot with a small engine. We bought a new A250 4Matic for my wife a couple of months ago. It's just a 2 litre turbo engine, but honestly it's got more than enough performance (160kW/350Nm). The A45 is more powerful from the same powerplant, though I think that's mostly just a higher pressure turbo.

Sure, it'd be smashed into next week by a supercar; but I'm not in the middle of the UK anymore with my Supra; I'm basically in the middle of Melbourne city. My opportunities to even floor it are practically non existent, and you'd be mad to break the speed limit because there's a camera every 10 feet.

These days now that I'm no longer 21 and invincible (I think I'm 22 now), I don't honestly see the point of much more performance. The nanny/big brother state is firmly watching, and I can't be fucked dealing with the agro of police etc; I'd practically lost my license by the time I was 19, I try not to do it anymore.

That said, I still like to have some power available, because every now and then I find myself on a country lane, and then it's a lot of fun smiling

More to the picture topic though, that sure is a waste of a nice machine. I would've treated her nicer than that!

Just happened onto a car I would have thought impossible to find, though I did .... a garage kept 91 black NA (4g63/2.0l) Eclipse that's loaded with all options and factory sunroof and is 100% bone stock w/only 69k on the odoclock. Paint/body/interior's perfect, never wrecked, no rust and everything works. This thing haddn even had so much as a K&N air filter installed! And the best part, only $2k!!

I'll be keeping it NA but def NOT stock. Headers/exhaust, 2g ported head w/big valves, ported intake manny, 3" TB and custom intake pipe all managed w/speed density metering, bigger injectors, Fluidamper crank pulley, oversize/underdrive acces. pullies, cam gears, bigger alum. radiator/slim fans, and then top it off by tweakin it all w/an ECMlink.

But, 1st things 1st, w/all original 25yr old suspension the 1st order of business is a full set of KYB AGXs and new polyurethane components for all the aged rubber suspension/frame bushings.

All the above should yield a great handling dependable daily driver I can beat the piss out of for years and ... if I blow it up I'll drop in a 2.4 bottom end w/10 - 1 compression and keep goin. This package will make for a car that tops out at a measly 125mph but is a total blast to drive as it enables lotsa fun and spirited driving in the normal./sane ranges (0-100mph) and can still getcha into lotsa trouble w/the local constabularies. Oh, and still manage a reasonable 25mpg, even with your right foot planted on the floor.

At least out here in the sticks of central Texas there's lotsa twisty/hilly back roads to play on too without drawin too much of the gendarmes attention.

This is my Christmas present to myself for this year. Merry Christmas to ME rock
