I'm not religious but I am a spiteful muthafucka so I know spite when I see
it.
The Rainbow was chosen as a big middle finger the Church IMO.
Genesis 9:13-15 (King James)
I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between
me and the earth.
And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow
shall be seen in the cloud:
And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living
creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy
all flesh.
Loose translation is that the rainbow is God's promise that he is watching over
us and will NOT flood the Earth again.

That could be just the lens you see things through Woberto. Either of you
could be right or their could be another reason.
I often see things through the lens of cynicism, as I've been the recipient of
so much 'truth' and encapsulations of 'reality' that are cynical pushing of
vested interest. The best lesson I had at school was to judge what's marketed,
by politicians or media. It's stood me in good stead.
