There's nothing free about the vehicles permitted to be road registered.

Everything has to undergo testing and meet safety standards. I agree with the image. Those giant ugly utes should be banned and standards updated.

I had one park next to me the other day. The front bonnet was higher than my roof line. How is that possibly safe in a side impact collision? It's front bumper at my window. There was the images of one driving over a Porsche or Ferrari or something recently at traffic lights because the driver couldn't see the car at all.

Unfortunately the proliferation of "SUVs" is because of a "if you can't beat them, join them" mentality. The worst drivers buy the biggest cars to feel safer, putting everyone else at risk so they need to do the same.

I'm an equal opportunity banner. I'd get rid of them, too. Probably anything bigger than an X3. Or X1..

I agree Tobes but I am a big advocate of "don't hate the playa, hate the game" so I drive a landcruiser and if I get a decent tax return next month I am buying one of those REDONKULOUS v8 RAM utes (trucks). If they ban them, I will happily buy another Toyota.

woberto you don't solve a problem by being part of it. John Howard permitted those vehicles (allowed their import) to pretend he admired the yanks. Undo his change (and everything he did) and you'll have a better country.

This is true. I've seen some of those things here and can't imagine what sales pitch was used - on someone without the same education.
