To me it looks very protestant - lots of light. Light and life are
characteristics of protestantism. The people who fought for, or bemoaned the
defeat of, the Spanish Armada lived in a man made world of darkness.
My family were among those who embraced protestantism. An ancestor was an
officer on Drake's flagship the Hind, a relative brought his own ship to battle
against the Armada and another relative was among those burned to death by
catholics at Oxford. Another ancestor served in Gustav Aldophus's cavalry,
butchering catholics across what's now Germany in the Thirty Years War.
