Most poverty in Africa is due to government corruption. Part of that corruption is selling resources cheap, first to yank companies, and now Chinese. In fact, after the Second World War over 40 democratically elected governments were overthrown to back corrupt dictators who would sell cheap to the yanks. Do you really think the locals don't know?
