Allegedly you do not require a wildfire for these things to go up in flames.

One was driving around here in 1st gear the other day, and revving the shit out of it every time it stopped.. I felt bad for the car, but was also waiting for it to burst into flames.

Basically everyone that drives a Ferrari or Lamborghini etc around here only knows 1st gear.

You obviously haven't moved in my circles. The 'Italian Stallions' allegedly vibrate their seats (never been in either). And that the effect is magnified in 1st. I've never known a Lambo owner. Someone I used to work with said he was test driving a Ferrari on the weekend and never mentioned it again.

No it just makes them loud so people look at you.

I've driven a Ferrari 458, Lamborghini Huracan and McLaren 540c (McLaren was definitely my favourite). They're all nice cars, and all behave very well if you drive them calmly. But if you drive around in 1st gear at 6000-8000rpm you can be heard from 3 blocks away and everyone will look at you; which, let's be honest, is why you've bought one of these cars in the first place.

Hmmm... I've never heard anyone criticise the McLarens, but that's interesting.

Conspicuous consumption attracts attention from the wrong type of people. There's too much of this going on: [www.plus613.com]

Do you visit plus613.com or plus613.net ? If you stick to .net then you will probably have less login/cookie/site issues because everything redirects to .net where possible (long story).

I always go to the .net. Don't worry about it pulse. Kim does have a point and I could have thought longer about a username... too late now.

Just interesting because if you use .net, your image link above is .com (which shows as logged out until you come back to .net if you follow it).

Anyway, just a curiosity.

And yes, McLaren was definitely my favourite out of the 'supercars' I've driven.. but I've also driven a lot of nice or fast cars, from 911s to TVRs to V8 Jags etc.

My Supra is still my favourite car. Damn I wish I still had that.

My most favourite ride was a 1980's Rolls Royce, the comfort of the seats is incredible! Really, you have to try that. It will change the way you look at cars. He would drive 400kms and be comfortably ready to go at the end.

Trouble was, on that dirt road with corrugations and potholes, it began to rattle. I don't know if he sold it or just leaves it in the shed. Before that I had only been in an older Rolls and an older Bentley - with the short, curved bonnets. The Bentley owner found me a small, second hand Peugeot 504, it was a trade in and a good deal. I was a teenager then so my parents paid for it. It was comfortable and handled the same dirt road with no trouble - the longer suspension to handle the same bumps is really worthwhile (and it was lighter!). But, mum drove it for two and a half hours with the hand brake on. As I said, they paid for it...

Well put quasi, that's the truth.
